This week I thought I would tell you about my song for Mini, as I already told you about Maxi’s. I had a difficult pregnancy with my number two child as I suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum through out it (just like with Maxi) and MadDad had to give me thrice daily injections to try and reduce the sickness, however this was compounded with a relocation 350 miles back to our native North East whilst 6 months pregnant and looking after Maxi (who was only 15 months when Mini was born). So I spent a lot of time sleeping when Maxi was sleeping or being sick when I wasn’t asleep!
As we relocated we went to see the consultant to discuss my options for birth, Maxi had been born by a crash section following a failed induction and a placental abruption at 38 weeks and we were keen to try for a vaginal birth with Mini, as the thought of another section and looking after a toddler scared me rigid. We managed to get the consultant to agree to what he describes as trial by labour. So off I trotted home and decided at 36 weeks to put together a hospital bag and fill up my ipod too. This was very fortuitous, as I had to go back in to hospital at just over 36 weeks due to medical issues and have injections to prepare Mini to be born. Mini was born by cesarean section at exactly 37 weeks to Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.
Tracks of my years, is a something I do to let my children have an insight in to me and my musical history and why certain songs mean so much to me. I would love to see you join in. All you need do is link any music post you might have done over the last week.

How lovely, unfortunately my boy was born to Megadeath. Story of my life. Sounds like you had a really hard time. x
Your CommentsThe best of times and the worst of times isn’t it? You miss that precious baby in the hospital crib so much, yet what an ordeal it all was…Ds1 (11) has just heard this song for the first time on a compilation I bought a month ago from Morrisons – I cannot believe that my almost teenage boy was that baby, the baby who is now telling me This is a really great song Mum you should listen to it!
Do you know, I personally had never heard the song till you and Grouchy mentioned it – was it a year ago?!
Hope half term was great! It looks it in your photos.
