Simple crafts are often the best and I love doing things that are easily replicated and fun for kids to make and these washi decorated toilet roll bracelets are the perfect kids craft. I can never get enough of toilet roll crafts, such a versatile everyday material and something that we would throw away.
Toilet Roll Bracelets
I really have no issues using toilet rolls for crafts, but some people might have issues with them, but the HSE debunk the myth here. If you do have an issue then keep the insides of kitchen rolls or even wrapping paper.
Materials:
- Cardboard tubes
- Washi tape
- Hole punch
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pipe cleaners
How to make Washi Decorated Toilet Roll Bracelets
I am a huge fan of washi tape for decorating with. It gives kids such instant gratification and there is no mess, so no need to clean up after the children!
These toilet toll bracelets are so simple to make a tutorial isn’t even necessary but here are a few of the basic steps should you need them or for children to follow themselves.
To start cut along your toilet roll and then mark it to the widths you want to each of your bracelets.
Then cut along the lines.
Then the fun parts starts the decorating. I have a huge stash of tape and I just let the kids loose with it and decorate them as they chose to.
You can then let them wear the bracelets without the pipe cleaners, but for long term wear the pipe cleaners keep them on (especially for bigger wrists).
To add the pipe cleaners punch a hole at each end of the toilet roll bracelet and then feed the pipe cleaner through it and twist to secure and do the same at the other end.
These would make a great simple craft for a group of kids at a camp or even a sleep over.

Great easy craft for kids. I think my son would turn them into superhero cuffs!
These look great. I also love the idea of using toilet rolls, and these sound like fun.
These look fab – will have to remember this for when Eliza has to dress as an egypitian
I could see us making these to add some interest to dressing up costumes for school.
Snazzy! These would be great for dress up and for costumes in school! I immediately thought of Ancient Egyptians!
