Sometimes all you want is the perfect chocolate chip cookie. Crispy on the outside and all chewy on the inside. These white chocolate chip cookies never fail to hit their mark and they are simple to make and perfect for cooking with kids. So we are delighted to be teaming up with We Bake and sharing our recipe for the best white chocolate chip cookies I have ever eaten as part of their Half Term Bake Brighter Days community challenge.

Picture the scene, it is a dull, dark Saturday and both of the boys have been playing outside when it starts to pour down. So it is time for baking, PJ’s and snuggles and a good movie. We need something that is fast and simple to make, will not leave the kitchen looking like a bomb site and that the boys can make!
White Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 170g or 1/2 cup of soft butter
- 225g or 3/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
- 2 teaspoons of Dr. Oetker Madagascan Vanilla Natural Extract
- 425g or 1 1/4 cups of plain flour (all purpose flour)
- 200g or 1 cup Dr. Oetker White Chocolate Chips
How to make White Chocolate Chip Cookies
Depending on the age of children you are making this with, it can be easier to weigh out all the ingredients and place in small bowls. Baking with kids is supposed to be fun, so make sure you are in the right frame of mind and have enough time. Cream together the butter and sugar. We use a mixer for this.
Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix together starting slowly at first.
Tip – Crack the egg into a cup rather than into the bowl in case any shell goes in.
Form the dough into balls and place on a lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart. The amount makes 18 medium cookies.
We use an ice cream scoop to measure out the cookies, so they are all the same size and cook evenly.
Cook in a preheated oven at 175 degrees centigrade or 350 farenheight for about 12 minutes until golden on the edges.
Allow to cool for around 3-5 minutes before transferring to a wire tray and enjoy!

Yum, these look good. They have great height to them, which I like. Mich x
Those look amazing! We sometimes add in hazelnuts or macadamia nuts (if no allergies). x
I know I should be paying attention to the recipe but I cannot help noticing how accessible everything is in your kitchen.
