Meet Tina and Milo – The Milan-Cortina 2026 Mascots

Tina and Milo are two charming stoats (ermine), chosen to symbolise courage, resilience, and the joy of winter sports. With their wintery white fur and bold expressions, they perfectly capture the excitement of the Winter Olympics and Paralympics. Both mascots wear green scarves as a nod to the Games’ strong focus on sustainability.

Their names are inspired by the host cities of the 2026 Winter Games:

• Tina comes from Cortina d’Ampezzo, home to many legendary winter sports moments. She represents the Olympic Games, showcasing speed, strength, and determination in winter sports

• Milo is short for Milano (Milan), the vibrant Italian city known for its culture and innovation. Milo embodies the Paralympic spirit, symbolising inclusivity, perseverance, and overcoming challenges.

Meet The Flo

Tina and Milo won’t be setting off alone on their journey toward 2026; they’ll be joined by six tiny snowdrops known collectively as “The Flo.” Together, they form a lively crew where each member brings something unique to the group: a talented talker, an exceptional athlete, a steady, grounded thinker, a mischievous livewire, and the quietest member who lets others shine. Their shared love of being outdoors and having fun bonds them together.

Their home is in the mountains, where they spend winters tucked under the snow, saving up their energy. Once spring and summer arrive, they come alive, eager to travel, play, make discoveries, and meet new friends.

These Olympic bookmarks to color are a fun and simple resource, perfect to celebrate this year’s Paris Summer Olympic games. However, we have made them generic in design so they work for the winter Olympics, summer Olympics and the Paralympic games.

We are big fans of coloring and reading here and love to make coloring bookmarks that capture on topical events. These Olympic bookmarks to color will hopefully entice kids who are not normally interested in crafts or art, but love to read or love sports. As a child I could have won a gold medal in reading, but not much else! Plus bookmarks are great for when you are time short and just need 5 minutes of peace – come on Mum’s we have all been there.

They are also great for group projects and these bookmark designs would be perfect to gift to your new class as a small and simple summer project. They help kids get creative and they encourage reading too! Just print the bookmark set onto heavy white card stock, cut out and glue onto a colourful cardstock background.  Punch a hole near the top and tie a ribbon through the hole.

I do love colouring bookmarks as they are fun to make and also useful for keeping track of where you got in your favourite book. The Benefits of Coloring for Children

We are huge fans of the Olympics here and look forward to it, mind you my boys, in fact my whole family are sports-obsessed and we love that it brings with it the opportunity to see some different sports that are not usually on the TV. We are particularly looking forward to breakdancing which is at the olympic games for the first time. These Bingo cards are a great accompanment to our family’s watching.

This time I have created two different sheets, so that they can be used for family fun and create a family Olympic challenge as to who ticks their card off first with the sports they have seen at the Paris Olympics. Yes Olympic/Paralympic Bingo.

You could gather together all of the sheets and make a Paris Coloring Book for when you are watching the Olympics, however, they would also make the perfect Parisian keepsake after a visit.

• Gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded in every event at the Olympic Games – a tradition that began in 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis, USA.
• The design of the medals is the responsibility of the host city’s organizing committee. Why not take a look at all the past medal designs?

Paris 2024 Olympic Medal Facts

• The Paris 2024 Medals were designed by an Athletes Committee and the House of Chaumet and the medals are adorned with a priceless piece of metal: the original iron from the Eiffel Tower in the form of an iron hexagon embossed with the emblem of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
• They made 5084 medals which are 85mm in diameter and 9.2 mm thick. The Eiffel Tower insert weights 18g. The gold medal weighs 529g, the silver medal 525g and the bronze medal 455g.
• As required by the IOC and IPC, the gold and silver medals are made from solid silver with the gold medal plated with 6 grams of gold. You can read more about the Paris medals here.

I am a big fan of printables as a mum as they allow me to download them and have them set aside for when I NEED 10 minutes of quiet time.

The parish 2024 Olympics take place from Friday 26 July 2024 to Sunday 11 August 2024. However, the competitions for football and rugby will begin on 24 July and the handball tournament on the 25th. In a little over three weeks, 329 events in 32 sports will take place.

The Games will take place in several locations around Paris with a total of 35 venues and 24 of the Olympic sports will be located within 10km of the Olympic Village such as les Yvelines, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-et-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis. However, the Paris 2024 Games will extend to many other areas of France, with the football tournament being played in six other cities (Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille) and the sailing taking place in Marseille but the surfing held at the Teahupo’o site in Tahiti which is in French Polynesia.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Mascot

The mascots (phryges) for the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics have been revealed — a Phrygian cap. The soft red cap, also known as a liberty cap, is an updated version of a conical hat worn which is a symbol of the pursuit of liberty in the French Revolution — and is still worn by the figure of Marianne, the national personification of France since that time. The Olympic cap is triangular in shape and comes complete with a friendly smile, blue eyes, tricolour ribbon and big-coloured sneakers.

Over the years, pictograms have become a key element of the look of the Games and the 62 Paris 2024 Pictograms are in a coat of arms style which is composed

Who are The Phyryes?

This year’s Olympic and Paralympic mascots are The Phyres who are based on a Phrygian cap which is an important and familiar symbol in France. The cap which dates back to ancient times is a symbol of liberty, revolutions, the French Republic and freedom, the Phrygian cap can be seen depicted in busts at town halls across the country as well as on stamps, and is also covered in the national curriculum in schools. The soft red cap, also known as a liberty cap, is an updated version of a conical hat worn which is a symbol of the pursuit of liberty in the French Revolution — and is still worn by the figure of Marianne, the national personification of France since that time.

The French National Archives show records of Phrygian caps which are also known as liberty caps (as they represented the liberty fought for in the french revolution) worn during the construction of Paris’ Notre-Dame cathedral in 1163, during the revolution of 1789, during work to build the Eiffel Tower, and during the Olympic Games in 1924. 

Olympics Organisers said they didn’t want to choose an animal or other creature, like mascots at previous Games, but instead wanted something that represented an “ideal.” They said they chose the cap as an “allegory of freedom.” The choice to use the Phrygian cap for the Paris Games is a nod modern France and the ancient world. “The Phrygian cap embodies the ability we all have together when we collectively decide to rise up to strive for better,” Paris organizing committee brand director Julie Matikhine said. The two mascots will be dubbed “Les Phryges,” which The Paris Olympics website explains that their name is pronounced: “fri-jee-uhs”.

The two mascots share a motto of “Alone we go faster, but together we go further”, and the Olympic Phryge is described as having a “methodical mind and alluring charm”, while the Paralympic Phryge is “spontaneous and full of energy and enthusiasm”. The Paralympic mascot has a running blade prosthetic leg, making it the first time that a mascot for the Games has had a visible disability which hopefully sends a strong message of inclusion and visibility.

The little Phrygian caps really are cute red mascots have blue eyes and big colored sneakers, they also wear the tricolor ribbon and a big friendly smile and represent French spirit.

There are not just two Phyryes – there is a whole tribe of them representing all the sports on offer over the games and there will be lots of merchandise available nearer to the games.
