How do you record your holiday memories?
My boys are very fortunate, blogging has brought us so many fabulous experiences as a family and I want to make sure that we are thankful for them and also record them so we can look back at our experiences and adventures.
One of the ways we do this is by scrapbooking. Now this isn’t the sort of fancy scrapbooking that some people do, it is more something that I do with the boys and let them take control of. Last year Maxi scrapbooked our Florida adventure.
The year before Mini recorded our adventures on memory stones.
This year inspired by my friend Jennie Maizels, we had added some drawing and scketing to our scrapbook.
There is something wonderful about see photo’s in the flesh and we have been testing out HP’s instant ink, which means that I don’t have to worry about printing costs as I have an annual subscription for ink and knew how much it will cost.
Scrapbooking is a great way to record your memories, but also to encourage the kids to keep up with their writing over the summer avoiding the dreading learning gap. Do you scrapbook with your kids? If not then why not give it a go and enter the Center Parcs August challenge.
I also love the idea of putting together a travel journal kit for the kids to take away with them.
‘I’m a Center Parcs Family Blogger and visited Whinfell village with my family. If you want to enter to win a place as a wildcard winner just go to the challenge page to find out how
I love scrapbooking both digitally and the traditional way but my children aren’t as interested at the moment. I like to make little pockets on the pages and insert little stories or drawings that they ave done.
Scrapbooking is a great creative craft and it’s a perfect way to save all those momentos . My son has his scrapbooks from when he was little still.
I love scrapbooking but don’t seem to have enough time these days. I like the idea of an ink subscription to HP as I think twice about printing stuff out.
I didn’t know you can an ink subscription. It looks like you have been having lots of fun. I try to have a mix of digital and ‘proper’ keepsakes for Baby x
I bought my boys pad for this very reason – they did it enthusiastically the first day but not after that. Think they’ve been so busy they just want to chill when I haven’t got things planned.
Great idea – we did this last year 🙂 A lovely reminder of all the fun they had!
What a great idea 🙂 They look fantastic! I may have to try this with my kids, I know my daughter would love it but it may be a challenge to engage my son! Fab post!!
I’ve started a scrap book with Ethan. It’s not for a specific event, we’re just going to come back to it from time to time and add more to it. Once we fill it I may ask my mum to make him a new one as she makes beautiful scrap books.
I do digital scrap booking too – When we have such a habit of taking photos with a digital camera and then leaving them on a laptop forever, I thinkit’s so nice to have something where we actually Use the photos. I can’t wait to start doing some digital scrap booking of my wedding, oh my goodness the excitement haha
I’m sad to admit that I started a scrap book that I done quite well with at the beginning, I sadly soon forgot about it and regret the decision so much. After reading all these CP post it’s got me thinking of how big the book could of been, and how wonderful it would be to look back on all the memories of them special days!
Luckily, I’m a little bit of a hoarder and keep attraction tickets and take lot’s of photo’s, I’m hoping between me and Spud, our memories quite work well and although it’s not been updated for a while, we are able to start off the scrapbook together from where I left it! x
The reason I started my blog is to record all our memories. Good luck in the competition xx
I think scrapbooks are a great idea, especially for the kids as it allows them to be really creative and it’s another fun activity for them to do.
We’ve been talking about scrapbooking our recent holiday to Russia – it’s such a great way to get the kids to feel involved in it too.
I love scrapbooking – and love the idea of an ink subscription service
I need to do this with our trip to Disney earlier this year, I think it is because I have never done one I am struggling to take the first step!
I love scrapbooking, used to do that ages ago but now just don’t seem to have enough time… Mr is too small now and would probably eat most of the bits 😉 but when he grows up I really want to get him creative with his own!
I used to scrapbook all the time when I was little and I miss it, I keep wondering whether I should take it up and do something with Wilf but I never seen to find the time! x
I used to make scrapbooks on holiday and now my eldest two have started doing it too. I think it’s a lovely keepsake for later.
These scrapbooks look great and are super for displaying keepsakes from holidays that would otherwise get thrown away.
