It is important to remember what children really want at Christmas is you. Your time, your attention and love and they will try and get it any way possible. Sometimes that means that they play up as they can see you are busy and any attention is better than none. My biggest tip is to be organised. I try and get everything done as early as possible. Yes, I know that people will find you smug, but oh it is so much easier to be able to have that time to spend with your family.

Thanks for the reminder that at getting organised isn’t simply a way to feel smug, but to enjoy the festivities with a focus on the family. Better get moving…
This is absolutely true. Kids want to spend time with parents and loved ones at Christmas. It would be a grate shame to spend the Christmas time running and getting ready for a big celebration and avoid they need to get close to you. I will probably not have the best Christmas tree or the best table set, but I will try to include my kids in all I do. They just love the attention and to show me how good and how “big” they are:)).
