When was the last time you had a great experience in a hotel as a family? How do you go about choosing a family friendly hotel? I know how important it is to feel comfortable when you are staying in a hotel when you have children. I am delighted to be working with Laterooms and to be able to share with your this year’s Best Family Friendly Hotel of the year.
Over the October half term we spend 5 days at the amazing Potters Leisure Resort and I have been wondering just how to put into words how much fun we had and that is why this review has taken so long to get live! Everytime I re read it I wanted to add more. So if you are currently thinking of a holiday take a read and see just what we thought.
My boys are big Blackpool fans. We went back this summer for second year running and had a great time. There is so much to do and enjoy and this summer for the first time since I was a child we visited the Blackpool Tower Circus and each year they have a panto which runs from 22nd November 2015 to 17th January 2016.
I love traveling with my family, but it wasn’t always that way. I used to get quite uptight and anxious about it. It was such a chore remembering everything. I have managed to control my anxiousness with lots of planning and some great tips. So in collaboration with Holidaysafe.co.uk, I am going to share them with you.
With two boys aged nine and ten unplugging can be an issue sometimes. Not the time spent unplugged but the high tech tantrums when I tell them that it is time to turn off! We call it reluctance to transition in The Mad House. We recently had an unplugged weekend at Sherwood Pines (Nottinghamshire) with Forest Holidays and it was a huge success.
Can you believe that it is nearly a year since we all went on holiday to Orlando. We spent 2.5 weeks in Florida with my Brother, Sister in Law and Niece and I just realised that I never actually shared anything about our holiday! We had an amazing time and the boys loved every minute of it. So what apart from Disney did we do!
As a family we love London and we love visiting, however, as we reside in the frozen North of England it is a long journey and sometimes weekends can be stressful and hectic. Not anymore as thanks to Superbreak we had the perfect family weekend in London and I want to share with you what made it so special. Make it for all the family What made this weekend so perfect (even with Mini feeling under the weather) was there was something for everyone in the family. We talked about what we all wanted from the weekend before we started planning and discovered that we all wanted to do different things. more »
Did you see that we went to Blackpool as a family over the summer holidays? We had THE BEST time. Blackpool has really changed since I went there last 20 years ago. Blackpool is certainly back! Blackpool certainly is a wonderful place for families to visit and they have just brought out their ‘The Kids Resort Guide’, an interactive guide, written by Blackpool’s biggest critics… the kids. It shows Blackpool’s top attractions through the eyes of a child.
During 0ur recent weekend at Blackpool we stayed at Ribby Hall Holiday Village which is ten minutes outside of Blackpool and is amazing. For us it was much better than staying on a B&B or a hotel as we had the freedom to come and go as we likes, plus coupled with fab onsite activities and leisure pool it has something to suit every family. We are fans of spending family time together and have come to love holidays where we can take all the family including Alvin the dog. At Half term we went to Sand le Mere on the Yorkshire coast, 2 hours away from our home on the Yorkshire coast (Hey Yorkshire is big and we live in North Yorkshire and Sand le Mere is in East Yorkshire). Now I am going to preface this post with the fact that it was WET, very wet, it rained every day bar one when we were there and then Mini got tonsillitis, but inspite of all that we had a lovely time and I can more »
We fell in love with Center Parcs when we visited Whinfell earlier in the year. It was a perfect family holiday and had something for everyone in the family. Hopefully, we’ve seen the back of the worst of the weather, and while we are still in the middle of springtime, summer is just around the corner. Apparently, we can expect one of the best summers in a long time, with bright sunny days making regular appearances, and what better way to enjoy them than with a festival or two? Festivals aren’t just for grownups who love a good booze up and a funky pair of wellies – there are loads of fantastic festivals across the UK that appeal to families, too. Whether you wish to take your children along to a predominantly adult festival, or you’d prefer to ease them more »
It can be hard to find a weekend break that fit’s all family needs, in fact it can be pretty impossible, especially when you have two overactive boys aged seven and eight, a husband that works very hard all week and thinks weekends are for relaxing and me, who just doesn’t want to cook and wants a little me time.

Like many families we are squeezed. With work, family commitments, school, diy, sports, beavers, cubs, hobbies and cooking, cleaning and all that comes with a home and much more and since the new rules about holidays during school time we are even more squeezed. We have just Squeezed an awful lot on to a weekend at Center Parcs (come back over the coming week to find out just how much), but Actimel also know a lot about squeezing a lot of good things in to small things. Their 100gram bottles are packed full of yogurt, live cultures, fruit puree, calcium and essentials vitamins B6 and D.

When we think of romantic cities, London rarely springs to mind. Instead, we think of the soft hues of Paris in the spring, or walking hand in hand amidst the falling leaves of New York’s Manhattan in the autumn. We might think of the earthy vibrancy of gorgeous Barcelona, the sensuality of Istanbul or perhaps even the cobbled backstreets of Edinburgh, Christmas lights twinkling in the background. However, that is selling London short. Very short indeed! If you know where to go, London can be the most romantic city there is, bar none. All you need to know is where to look.
