We are huge fans of family movie nights and have been waiting patiently to download The Secret Life of Pets so we could watch it as a family, Alvin included! So here are our top tips on how to download movies and makie movie night fun for all the family (including any pets)!
Family movie nights are a weekly occurrence here in the Mad House, in fact, we each take turns in picking the movie each week. There is nothing I love more than snuggling up on the sofa with my family under a blanket with some snacks watching a movie.
The boys went with their friends to see The Secret Life of Pets in the cinema and loved it, so I have been waiting patiently to download it as this would be the first chance I’d get to watch the film after its cinema release.
How to Download The Secret Life of Pets
The boys are big technology fans, so we are no strangers to downloading films to watch. I prefer downloading films as there is no box to take up space, or disk to get scratched…or lost! In fact, downloading is so easy it is child’s play in this house!
We love to order movies on iTunes, which so easy, especially if we have credit on our account. Simply go to the iTunes Store and search for the film you want. Then click on it. You are them given the option to buy and download. This is perfect for when we are going on a journey as the boys travel with our iPad and they can watch the movie in the car once we have downloaded it. You can also watch it on any Apple device too and if you have Apple TV you can watch it on your TV too.
Another of our favorite ways to download movies is using the Sky Store. This is where we buy the movie from Sky, download it to our Sky Q box and then we can watch it at home via our Sky box, or on any of the 4 other devices we have connected via Sky Go. For us, this is the most convenient way to download (they also send the DVD in the post). You can download films directly from Sky TV, or you can sign in on the website and order it and then download it on the Sky Q box. The beauty of this for us, is we can watch it on the TV and on our iPads (Sky Go).
We decided to download The Secret Life of Pets on Sky Go, so we could snuggle up with Alvin (our own pet) to watch. I popped into the kitchen to get the popcorn and by the time I got back in the boys had already started downloading it (don’t worry MadDad didn’t tell them the password)!
The Secret Life of Pets, which is produced by the people behind Despicable Me and is a comedy about the lives our pets lead when we leave for work or school. Max, voiced by Louis C.K., is a loyal terrier living a perfectly happy existence until his owner, Katie (Ellie Kemper) brings home Duke (Eric Stonestreet) a big, boisterous mutt she finds at the shelter. When Max and his unruly new “roommate” slip away from their dog-walker, they find themselves lost in the urban jungle of New York City. In an attempt to stay ahead of animal control and a rebel band of abandoned pets led by an unhinged bunny named Snowball (Kevin Hart), they put aside their differences to survive the epic journey back home”.
We all really loved The Secret Life of pets and Snowball really stole the show, closely followed by Tattoo the Pig! It is a great feel good family movie that is suitable for kids of all ages. The boys now want to install a camera to see what Alvin gets up to when we are all out of the house!
We all snuggled up on the sofa with blankets to watch it and even Alvin joined us!
