No matter how many times I profess my love of LEGO Duplo and LEGO, I just don’t think I can put into words just how much we love it as a family. Yes we are opn the cusp of the top end of the age range for LEGO Duplo, but due to the fact that it is compatable with LEGO (yes you can connect and interchange the bricks) it is still one of the most played with toys in The Mad House.
We were sent a super duper selection of LEGO Duplo Cars 2 sets to play with as part of the expert program. Rather than do a straight review of the kits (which are fabtastic), I thought I would give you a run down on why we love it so much:
-
- My six year old has learnt to follow the instructions (or constructions as the boys call them) and can build the sets without adult assistance
- You can use the bricks to make or construct anything you can imagine
- Not only is it a construction toy, it also drives imaginitive play
- It is great to see my two build, design and play together, LEGO Duplo brings them together
- The compatibility with LEGO means that the boys can build bigger better things and really enjoy using the duplo bricks to make instant impact
- There is no right or wrong, meaning that there are no limits or constraints to their play.
- I love watching Maxi show Mini how to follow the instructions.
- I love the games and with the Cars 2 set, it has been fun to hear them imitate the characters using the voices.
- It lasts forever.
- It isn’t sexist. It comes in bright colours and doesn’t stereotype.

Wow fabby competition. x
Lovely photos of the boys having fun. It’s strange M doesn’t really play with the stacks of Lego we have but then the older boys both loved it. I wonder if it’s all the technology we have in this house which distracts now.
Possibly an odd question, Jen, but what programme/software do you use to get your photos displaying like that?
Amazing comp, thank you xxx
Nova > I insist on screen free time and we have boxes of Duplo and Lego out which the boys play with a lot
Rosie > I use Picassa 3, which is a free downloadable picture thing. Then I highlight the images I want to use and click on collage, then under settings I click on picture pile and then arrange them how I want them. I like the fact that I can use lots of pictures without filling my post with them
Wow!! Excellent competition, I will be entering thats for sure, Thank you so much 🙂 Xxxx
