One of our favorite family tradition is all snuggling up together and enjoying a family film and to celebrate this we are working with Sky Movies this Christmas and sharing their personalised Sky Movies #MovieMe Christmas Cards, along with our festive sugar and spice seasoning and free popcorn box printables.
The four family films available to choose from will all premiere on Sky Movies throughout the Christmas period, on the following dates. Each film will also will be available On Demand and on Sky Go:
- Muppets Most Wanted – 19th December
- The LEGO® Movie – Christmas Eve
- Frozen – Christmas Day
- The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – New Year’s Day
We decided, well the boys decided that they wanted to create bespoke The Amazing Spider-Man 2 cards. Both of them are huge #Spiderman fans, in fact as a family we all love a bit of Marvel.
So here are their cards……………….
But this isn’t something that is exclusive to bloggers, you can create your own card from the choice of one of four movies; Frozen, The LEGO® Movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 or Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted.
You can even add your own name before sharing the card .
If you make a card then do be sure totweet @SkyMovies and @Mum_themadhouse using the #MovieMe hashtag so we can see it. You can also opt to receive a printed postcard version of your #MovieMe card (whilst stocks lass) which would be perfect for our Christmas Memories Book.
It is really easy to do, the mini mads did this all on their own. To join in with this festive fun activity all you have to do is visit skymovies.com/ and follow the simple step-by-step instructions.
To go with the fabulous movies on Sky over the festive period, you will need Popcorn and I am sharing our family favorite with you here.
Our favorite festive Popcorn recipe
This recipe was actually inspired by Nurturestores Festive Play dough. We made this last year for Christmas and the boys loved the smell of the herbs and spices, so we used it to make our own seasoned sugar. It is like the whole smell and Taste of Christmas in a sugar form.
- the zest of an orange or two clementines
- A vanilla pod
- a good grating of nutmeg
- three cloves
- some ground cinnamon
- a bay leaf
We whizzed this up in our mini herb blender and then add it to caster sugar. We keep this festive sugar in a kilner jar and add it to allsorts, including pancakes, porridge, ice cream and even tea!
We like to air pop our corn and once it is popped we coat it with some vegetable oil spray before sprinkling our festive sugar spice over it and enjoying.
